Kari Samantha Wuhrer (born April 28, 1967) was an American actress and singer. Wuhrer began her career as a teenager and is best famous for her character of Maggie Beckett in the television show Sliders and also as the Sheriff Samantha Parker in the horror comedy film Eight Legged Freaks.Wuhrer was born in Brookfield, Connecticut, the daughter of Karin (nee Noble), a payroll accountant, and German American Andrew Wuhrer, who was a police officer as well as a auto salesman. She has three brothers and sisters. She started singing at club nights as a teenager. She was known to sneak away from her house in order to perform.
